Event Summary - Workshop "Beyond analytical models – how to utilize computer simulations to analyse scattering data"
On January 16-17 (lunch to lunch)a topical workshop with the theme “Beyond analytical models – how to utilize computer simulations to analyse scattering data”, aimed particularly at young researchers (PhD/PostDocs), was organized by Lund University, the NordForsk SoftBio Network, LINXS, MAX IV, and ESS, in conjunction with the 15th Nordic workshop on Scattering from Soft Matter (NSSM) held on January 17-19 in Lund.
It was attended by an enthusiastic group of 30 students, mainly PhD-students and post docs, and lectures were given by Prof. Jan Skov Pedersen, Århus University, Denmark; Prof. Jan Forsman, Division of Theoretical Chemistry, Lund University, Sweden, and Prof. Dr. Roland G. Winkler, Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany.
The workshop was ended by round the table discussions, and thereafter most of the students participated in the Nordic Workshop on Scattering from Soft Matter. It was an intense schedule, but there was also time for social activities, with a workshop dinner at the pub Bishops Arms.
