LET’S DIVE INTO THE ATOMS! WEBINAR SERIES

AN INTRODUCTION TO X-RAY AND NEUTRON METHODS

20110202-virus-diffraction.jpg

Welcome to a web-seminar series introducing x-ray and neutron science from a methods perspective. The aim is to create a fundamental understanding of how you as a researcher can use x-rays and neutrons in your own research.

Areas that will be covered during the webinars include:

  • Fundamental knowledge of different x-ray and neutron methods and applications.

  • Guidance on how to complement laboratory-based experiments with experiments at large scale research facilities such as MAX IV and ESS.

  • Information on how to write a proposal for beamtime at large scale research facilities, and pre-proposal experiments.

Who can participate?

The webinars are free to attend and open to all researchers from around the world. You do not need any in-depth knowledge of x-rays and neutron methods. If you are curious to get to know how the matters interact at atomic level, you are most welcome to dive deeper into the atoms with us!

Who can benefit from the webinars?

  •  Early career researchers who wish to learn more about x-ray and neutron science and methods.

  • Researchers who wish to integrate neutron and x-ray methods into their research.

  • Researchers who need support to write beamtime proposals.

Timeline

Events were created continuously and pick up again, for a second round, in the middle of October 2020. Each webinar is 35 to 40 minutes followed by questions from the participants.

Past webinars are recorded and can be found further down on this page.
